On May 17th we held our Annual “Pow Wow in the D.” We were pleased to be back at the Wayne State University Intramural Field this year to gather together as a community. If you were able to make it that day, thank you for joining us! If you didn’t make it this year, we hope to see you next year!
Below you will find a video and pictures from that day. The video is called Perspectives because a pow wow can mean different things to different people. Pow wows are also part of Native cultures, and like Native cultures in general, always evolving. That day, Azhanae Depa, AIHFS’ Youth Program Aide, asked attendees questions to help gain perspective for pow wow and culture in general.
The video below has resolution options up to 4k, but for the higher resolution versions we recommend using the “Watch on YouTube” link. Then at YouTube, playback for those higher resolutions will play better. For best viewing of the picture set, click on any picture to open an image box with scrolling and zooming capabilities.
For any questions or concerns, please contact the Pow Wow Committee atpowwow@aihfs.orgor (313) 846-3718.
