Pow wow in the D!
We invite dancers and singers to dance and celebrate good medicine at the AIHFS Powwow in the D on August 3, 2024. We also invite the general public to attend and enjoy this celebration of life. This year though we hope to make it our best one yet as we have partnered with Wayne State University!
Shannon Martin, as our Master of Ceremony, will be sure to help those new to the pow wow circle stay informed as to what is taking place. Our singing and drumming will be done by our Host Drum, War Paint, and Co-host drum, Sharp Feather. Helping to assist with this circle will be an Arena Director.
Besides enjoying the beautiful singing and dancing, attendees will have the opportunity to visit the two Native food vendors selling Native American food and to visit the various Native American vendors selling their handmade crafts! Powwow in the D also will have informational booths handing out community resources.
We are currently working out providing free parking for all. Please check back to see about parking updates, and other details, we will be adding to this page as we get closer to our event date.
We hope Powwow in the D will be a beautiful celebration of dancing and acknowledging Native American culture. CHI-MIIGWETCH to all those planning to attend this year’s powwow.
